Guilty pleasure alert! Yes, another one. I love watching the Bachelor. And when I’m not watching the Bachelor I love listening to podcasts about the Bachelor. There is the one podcast in particular that brought into light for me some ways that getting the lead’s eye is a little bit like selling your coaching services.
This podcast brings in a couple of concepts I’m by no means an expert in: numbers and sports. But it marries these concepts quite impressively with the overall romantic notion of this show which is purportedly about finding true love. This got me thinking.
There is some number work at play at this noble job of coaching moms to different goals and dreams. Let’s explore how this can be true for seeking out your true love clients while also seeing how we can consciously keep track of what’s working and what’s not so we just get better and better at this game of building our coaching business while loving up our dream clients.

First impression is everything. So much so, that in the show they have a special rose for one special contestant for offering the best one. While you don’t want to put that sort of pressure on yourself, here’s what you do have control over – showing up as your self.
One of the best first impressions on the show is when the contestants offer a little gift and extra bonus to make it a two way street where the lead gets to participate with you and the gift. You can do the same too in your marketing. I offer some ideas.
You need to get into there to get a conversation going. On the show this is called ‘turtling’ if you don’t creep out of your shell and start a back and forth. Don’t turtle! Budget time every day to get out there and meet people. Speak to your existing audience. Make new friends and be helpful! If it helps keep points. I’ve being doing this lately and it’s been fun. And fun’s my word of the year!
Don’t cause drama. I know you’re not trying to but always be setting the precedent of what’s acceptable behavoir. Both in your own community/social media platforms and how you show up in others.
Be vulnerable by sharing a little bit of your own story. What you’ve overcome to find yourself vying for the lead’s heart and attention. Open up and share your hero’s journey. Or some story from your past that offers an aha moment that your ideal client can relate to.
Keep your eye on that fantasy suite key! This is a weird parallel but this when the true intimacy happens. You get to talk allllll night long. With no cameras. In selling your coaching services, the room where you get to see if you’re are indeed a fit with your potential client is by hopping on a discovery call. Keep yourself energetically open to saying yes to this invite and keep inviting by staying consistent with all aspects of your marketing plan.
And with that, want to join me in my proverbial fantasy suite? Let’s do this! Hop on a call to see about us working together for six months, one on one, creating your marketing plan and getting you woo your ideal clients over and over again. Book your discovery call here. Wink, wink!
