Bliss Beyond Naptime is all about supporting you as you go for your life’s calling to become a coach.
It’s also about how by embracing deep self-care and allowing more creative play into your life, so you can unveil your higher purpose.
And how through inviting more simplicity into your days you can create the time and space for your coaching biz aspirations to germinate.
Bliss Beyond Naptime’s about taking those first baby steps to birthing your work from home dreams with those precious pockets of time that motherhood rations out to us everyday and having deep gratitude for such little blessings.
Keeping it sustainable, having the right tools and rituals at hand and sprinkling the mundane with regular doses of guilty pleasure-laden indulgences is what I call the Mama Bliss Way:
Self-Care + Creativity + Values + Simplicity = Mama Bliss
And with this equation intact the world’s our bon-bon eating oyster as we consciously generate the time energy in our busy mama-ing days to pursue our passions and calling outside of motherhood. Guilt-free.
And as a certified creativity and simplicity parenting coach, I’m all about releasing perfectionism, lowering expectations and luxuriating in chilling out with family-friendly incubation periods. It makes life and biz SO much more blissful and balanced.
And latte. Oh yeah. Lots and lots of latte.
And who else is with me in holding the belief that our kids want to see us following our bliss? It inspires them to go for their dreams too!
And once we work on getting your bliss together, and you’re called to it, I know there is a joyful and brilliant way we can meld your passions and gifts together that will earn you at least a part-time income before you know it AND get you to stay close to the home fires where your munchkins gently roast.
How the bliss began
Being a hyper-crafty mama, I began blogging in 2006 as a way to participate in sew and knit-a-longs. Around this time I began selling my art yarn and handmade clothes on Etsy but soon discovered making stuff from scratch for sale online wasn’t very sustainable. I wanted to preserve some of my crafty energy for making my kids matching outfits.
So I created a couple of online sewing courses that were selling while I slept and that’s pretty much the first time I heard that tinkle bells sound in my head when someone somewhere in the world discovers a path that melds a passion AND a sustainable business model together. (I checked. It’s not tinnitus.)
But I wanted to connect with my readers and customers on a more intimate level still. And get nice and close to hear more life purpose discovery ca-chings. So I became a Creativity Coach.
From this and my Simplicity Parenting coaching background, I created Mama Bliss Coaching to help moms create self-care rituals so they can heal themselves with creative play, find the time and energy to pursue their interests and maybe even discover their right livelihood.
Soon my long term clients were voicing their wish to coach in this way too so I created a 12 week coaching training program called Mama Bliss Coaching School to help spread the Mama Bliss around the world nice and thick.
But before there was Mama Bliss in my life…
After getting my Communications Studies degree, for five years I worked in advertising at two different agencies.
The first one was a very small operation. It consisted of me and two guys helping hair transplanters and Lasik eye surgeons sell their craft with giant billboards and telephone on hold ads.
I did everything there from approaching cute bald guys at free pancake breakfasts to be our ‘before’ models, to writing and producing on-hold commercials in recording studios in which I got to utter, with a straight face, ‘say it again. but this time with more of a smile in your voice’. Loved that part.
Then I did corporate recruiting advertising that’s not as funny to write about.
I eventually quit the martini drinking and shoulder pads wearing to marry my soulmate, teach Ashtanga yoga full-time before experiencing two beautiful home births which led to six years of nursing combined with short stints of placenta eating.
Now I can’t help but feel that becoming a mother is just like an yoga class that never ends. Let alone being a creative, home-body mama with an entrepreneurial spirit – that’s a whole other metaphorical hot yoga class!
And how about you?
I would love to hear about you and what you’re hoping to explore outside of this delicious pajama party called being an awesome mama!
